Max in the mountains

Max was my introduction to the Australian Shepherd breed, and he is the reason I love the breed so much. His personality, intelligence, athleticism, and pure joy of life won me over instantly. Max came to live with me at age seven after tragically losing his first owner.

For more than 10 years, Max and I were inseperable... hiking, camping, and skiing the backcountry... sailing Alaska waters... skijoring local trails... dancing in the kitchen... catching frisbees high and low.

Max at 15 years old

Max brought so much joy and happiness to my life. Even at age 17, he was happiness on four paws. He loved life, and was a tolerant and valuable mentor for his very active little sister, Ginger. He was -and still is- loved by all who were fortunate enough to meet him.

Thank you, Max, for showing me how beautiful life is. I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I am forever grateful. The memories we've shared are etched in my heart, forever and always...
